With the weather warming up a bit I decided to head out for a relaxing camp in the woods. We drove the Freelander up a bumpy dirt track and after a brief walk, we found our site. It was very quiet, and well away from any paths or passers by. This was to be a lazy sit back, eat lots, and drink plenty type of evening- mission accomplished!
The next morning we cooked up some butchers sausages and onions before heading off for a long walk exploring the local area.

Great veiw of the forest. |
Thank you for the vicarious ramble. Looking forward to more, and to when I can next go afield myself.
ReplyDeleteLovely place, but I notice that many of the trees have bad bases. I wonder if there was a fire in the woods many years ago?
ReplyDeleteNice blog, and post.... looked like a good outing.
ReplyDeleteI've looked at several of your post and gear...pinched a few tips too for my own kit.
I do though much prefer a hammock to ground sleeping. I've been using the DD Travel hammock that doubles as a bivvi if needs be.
Can't see me ever going back to sleeping on the floor.
cheers
Gareth
